Tooth Extractions

At Dr. I.J. Durga Dental Clinic, we provide safe and effective tooth extraction services when a tooth is damaged beyond repair or causes pain. The procedure begins with a thorough examination and X-rays to assess the tooth’s condition. Local anesthesia is administered to ensure comfort during the extraction. For more complex cases, such as impacted wisdom teeth, sedation may be used. After the tooth is removed, we provide post-extraction care instructions to promote healing. Our team ensures that you are comfortable throughout the process, aiming for a smooth recovery and a healthy smile afterward.

About Tooth Whitening

Why should I have Tooth Whitening?

Severe Tooth Damage

Tooth extraction may be necessary when a tooth is severely damaged due to decay, cracks, or trauma that cannot be repaired with fillings or crowns.

Crowding

In cases of overcrowded teeth, particularly before orthodontic treatment, tooth extraction can help create space for proper alignment.

Infection or Abscess

When a tooth is infected or has an abscess that cannot be treated with a root canal, extraction may be needed to prevent the infection from spreading.

Gum Disease

Advanced gum disease can lead to tooth mobility, and extraction may be necessary to prevent further damage to the surrounding teeth and gums.

Preventing Further Complications

Extracting problematic teeth early can help avoid more serious oral health issues, including misalignment, infection, and bone damage.

Wisdom Teeth Issues

Impacted or improperly aligned wisdom teeth can cause pain, infection, or damage to surrounding teeth, often requiring extraction.

Procedure Practise

What is the procedure?

Preparation and Anesthesia

The procedure begins with a thorough examination, followed by the administration of local anesthesia to numb the area around the tooth. In more complex cases, sedation may be offered for added comfort.

Once the area is numb, the dentist will carefully loosen the tooth using special tools. For teeth that are difficult to remove, such as impacted or broken teeth, the dentist may need to make a small incision in the gum to fully extract the tooth.

After the tooth is removed, the dentist will clean the area and may place stitches if necessary. You will receive detailed aftercare instructions to promote healing and prevent infection, including pain management and dietary recommendations.
